Program Introduction

The tourism industry is one of the necessary stable growing and developing as an important sector in the world and Turkey. The steady growth of the tourism sector has led to a dynamic and intense competition between countries, regions and businesses seeking a larger share of tourism revenues. Diversification of the tourism product in this dynamic and intense competitive environment has become an important strategy for many countries, regions or enterprises. Health tourism, which means that people travel elsewhere to protect their health or to get their health, has emerged as a result of product diversification strategy in tourism. Other types of tourism according to the average expenditure of traveling to be higher, affected by seasonal fluctuations and rapidly growing health tourism in Turkey is supported by serious encouraged by the state.

Within the framework of these developments, the operation of health tourism has emerged as a special field of expertise. This is because effective and efficient management of health tourism requires knowledge of the theoretical and practical expertise of the health sector and health facilities on the one hand and tourism sector and tourism operations on the other. The program created with this understanding has been prepared taking into consideration developments in health tourism management in the world and our country.

The reason for the opening of this program; It is to educate the educated human power which has theoretical and practical expertise knowledge about health tourism, which can be managed effectively and efficiently, health sector, health institutions, tourism sector and tourism enterprises.

Obligation of Internship to graduate from the program; To graduate from the program, students are required to complete an Industry-Based Training (Internship) for a total of 30 (thirty) business days, 15 (fifteen) days at the end of the first year and 15 (fifteen) days at the end of the second year. Students have the opportunity to practice at our local and regional institutions. İlçemiz Municipality (Operational Thermal Facilities) has undertaken to provide all kinds of assistance in this and similar matters. In addition, program students have the opportunity to do their internships easily in other cities.

HEALTH TOURISM MANAGEMENT PROGRAM COURSE CONTENTS
FIRST CLASS SEMESTER

 
Health Tourism Economy;

The aim of this course is to enable students to acquire knowledge to answer the basic economic issues and problems of health tourism by analyzing the positive and negative effects of health tourism industry on national and international economy. Within the scope of the course, basic concepts related to health tourism economics, tourism tourism demand, tourism supply, market types and price formation in tourism, foreign capital in health tourism and the role of multinational enterprises and health (tourism and development relation) tourism, economic, socio-cultural and environmental consequences tourism is given place to the place of Turkey's economy.
 

Health Tourism Marketing;

 The aim of this course is to understand the marketing bases and marketing process, the importance of marketing in health tourism, the environmental factors that affect marketing program in health tourism, marketing information system and marketing research, market types, market segmentation, positioning and target market selection and marketing. Marketing concept, development, relations between marketing and environment. Marketing concept in health tourism, market segmentation, strategic marketing planning, product development strategies, adaptation of marketing mix in health tourism, positioning and selection of target market, learning marketing mix.

Basic Information Technologies;

The general aim of this course is; to provide the basic skills that a student needs in school life; to be able to move comfortably and safely in front of the computer, and to learn to use the technologies with the concepts encountered in networked computers.

Behavioral sciences;

 This course aims to provide students with the ability to explain the concepts of Investment-Management-Planning-Control in Health Tourism Business Administration. Classification of health tourism enterprises, selection of establishment location, determination of appropriate prices, organizational structure, financing issues will be taught.

Management of Health Institutions;

Definition of health, health values, health services, few of other goods and services, health care supply and demand, the objective of health services, the organization of health services, general health system in Turkey, the public health system in developed countries Health Organization, national health policy, Health service units and functions, health manpower planning, health staff and management of health services, financing of health services, various health systems, health indicators compared to developed countries and Turkey.

 
Medical Terminology;

 
Giving information about health and disease related medical terms. Introduction, basic definitions and terms related to human structure, items bringing medical terms to the stage; roots, prefixes and suffixes; Cardiovascular System Medical Terms, Ear, Nose, Throat, Eye Medical Terms, Uro-Genital System Medical Terms, Neurology and Psychiatry Medical Terms, Gastro-Intestinal System Medical Terms, Dermatology Medical Terms, Endocrinology Medical Terms.

Biostatistics;

It provides active learning of basic behaviors, skills and knowledge related to statistical records and researches required at the level of health technician. After taking this course, students will be able to use basic statistical techniques used in scientific researches, to keep, use and interpret statistical records in health institutions and to be able to interpret them, to present their data and to learn basic concepts about hospital statistics.

According to the Uniform Accounting System, it presents how to determine and record income-expenses, how to calculate unit costs, and how to make them into information that will shed light on work through their analysis.
